Buffalo Bills star wide receiver Stefon Diggs and Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Eli Apple have engaged in a bit of a Twitter battle over the past 24 hours.
Diggs left Highmark Stadium early following the Bills’ 27-10 home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round. On Monday, Diggs addressed his actions by posting the following tweet:
Apple saw the tweet and came back with this one:
Diggs then came back with a short and simple two-word tweet that just might prevent Apple from engaging in any more trash talk with him:
Cincinnati’s defense had a field day against Josh Allen and Buffalo’s high-powered offense. The Bills’ star quarterback was limited to 25 completions on 42 pass attempts for 265 yards, zero passing touchdowns and one rushing score. Diggs was limited to four receptions on the day for 35 yards. Buffalo’s other stalwart receiver, Gabe Davis, had just two receptions for 34 yards.
With the win, the Bengals have set up a second straight AFC Championship showdown with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead. Over in the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles will host the San Francisco 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field.
