Mike Silver of NFL Media reports that the Los Angeles Rams made a huge move on Tuesday by inking quarterback Jared Goff to a four-year contract extension that keeps him under team control through the 2023 season.
Ian rapoport then chimed in and stated it would be the largest guarantee in NFL history.
Goff was the No. 1 overall pick by the Rams out of Cal back in 2016 and was set to enter the final year of his four-year deal worth $27.9 million.
During the Super Bowl last season, Goff completed 364 out of 561 passes (64.9 completion percentage) and racked up 4688 yards, 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
