Chase Claypool has a lot to prove during the 2023 season.
The Bears want to get out of the NFC North basement in 2023 and to achieve that goal, the team will need Claypool to be on his game.
As of right now, it appears he is more focused on his fashion than getting better.
Claypool recently posted a picture on social media wearing the most ridiculous outfit while posing with an unknown woman. The WR also looks to be holding some type of purse as well.
Fans roasted him in the comments:
The Steelers sent Claypool to the Bears in exchange for a second-round pick, 32nd overall at the trade deadline.
Claypool arrived last November to much fanfare. The belief was that the talented third-year receiver could immediately help elevate quarterback Justin Fields to superstardom. Injuries to both of them limited their time on the field together.
Marc Silverman of ESPN’s Waddle & Silvy Show stated this offseason that people inside the Bears organization think he has not met the team’s expectations, and his mentality seems to be off heading into his first full season with the team.
Claypool finished last season with the Bears with just 10 receptions for 140 yards. He didn’t score in 2022.
With a full offseason to work with Fields off campus and study the offense, Claypool is hoping to change the conversation around him.
There is also the possibility he could be released come the end of next season. All options are available and can be eradicated if Claypool steps up.
