Chargers Rookie From Nigeria Playing In His First Ever Game Of Football Records A Very Unlikely Sack, Sending His Sideline Into A Frenzy (VIDEO)

The NFL preseason may not give us the most exciting brand of football, but it sure has a way of giving us some Hollywood-worthy stories.

We were given another one last night during the battle of L.A., between the Chargers and Rams.

On the defensive side of the ball for the Bolts, CK Okoye was playing in his first ever game of organized football.

It’s pretty crazy to think that the dude had never played an actual game of football, and now he’s expected to compete against the very best in the world at the top level of the game…

And what’s even crazier is that he was able to do it…AND record a sack!

CJ Okoye had never played in an organized football game until last night.

The Nigerian native attended the @NFLAfrica Camp last year & was signed by the @chargers through the International Player Pathway program.

It was a monumental moment, and the Chargers’ sideline reacted to it accordingly. Just look at their reaction to Okoye’s sack with under two minutes remaining in the game and their team up by 17.

Okoye’s journey to the NFL has been an interesting one. He was first discovered at a camp run by former NFLer Osi Umenyiora and NFL Africa. He then participated in the NFL IPP Combine last year, and apparently he turned enough heads to get himself on a roster.

Now we’ll see if his big sack is enough to keep him a Charger heading into week one of the 2023 regular season.
