It’s been a few months so let’s remind you of this story.
Back in May, CHGO Sports, a website that launched in March, tweeted a statement saying former Chicago Bears center Olin Kreutz, had been fired after he physically attacked a coworker.
According to reports, he allegedly “grabbed the neck” of colleague CHGO employee Adam Hoge in response to a “flippant” response.
Fast forward to July and Kreutz is finally breaking his silence about the incident. He told the Sun-Times that he wasn’t fired, but instead walked away from the position.
“I know they came out and said they fired me, but … that was my decision,” Kreutz told the Sun-Times. “And like I told my kids, you do something like that, you pay the penalty. You take the punishment and then you try to become a better person and try to learn from every situation.”
At the time of the incident, he retweeted a quote from boxing legend Mike Tyson about disrespectful people not being punched in the face.
Kreutz played 13 seasons with the Bears from 1998-2011 and was a six-time Pro Bowler.
