Over the weekend, Detroit Lions linebacker Trevor Bates for skipping a cab fare and then flying into a complete rage that resulted in him punching a sergeant because he “didn’t like the people in the room,” according to The Post.
After his behavior, a New York police organization released a statement bashing the NFL and Bates for the things that went on during that arrest.
“Trevor Bates acted beyond that of a wild animal. He refused to be fingerprinted, showed disdain for the officers & decided to punch a Sgt in the face. Fighting with officers he was tasered & ripped the taser prongs from his body. He’s dog crap and the NFL condones criminals,” the organization said on Twitter.
With the current climate of controversy involving cops and African-American citizens, the use of the words ‘wild animal’ and ‘dog crap’ is not exactly helping their cause here.
