You’ve probably heard a lot about Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes by now. In just his first three seasons as the starter, he’s made two Super Bowls, won one of them, and he’s also earned an NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP along the way. A quarterback with this type of resume has to have quite the woman by his side, right? So, who is Patrick Mahomes’ girlfriend?
Her name is Brittany Matthews and she’ll actually be Patrick Mahomes’ wife in the very near future — as the two got engaged during what was a very eventful 2020 for the couple. Matthews and Mahomes have been dating since high school. And while he is certainly the big-name celebrity in their relationship, she’s quite well known in her own right.

Who Is Brittany Matthews?
Brittany was born on September 1, 1995, in Whitehouse, Texas. After she graduated from Whitehouse High School, she went on to the University of Texas, Tyler (actually a rival to Texas Tech, where Patrick Mahomes played college football) and played for their soccer team.
She won the “All-East Texas Forward” award, graduated with a degree in kinesiology, and then went on to play professional soccer in Iceland. Her team won the league title before she returned to the US and hung up her cleats.
Now, she’s a certified personal trainer and in 2019, she created Brittany Lynne Fitness, an online fitness website where you can purchase different workouts put together by Matthews to do in the comfort of your own home or at the gym. She also has a line of fitness apparel that you can purchase on her site.
She’s also a “Balance Elite Leader” for Balance Athletica, promoting their workout clothes and gear. Despite being a new mom and supporting Mahomes at all of his games, Matthews is plenty busy with her own endeavors.
Patrick and Brittany’s Relationship
Brittany and Patrick have been together since high school. They started dating when she was in 11th grade at Whitehouse High School in Texas and he was in 10th grade. Before they were a couple, they were just friends and hung out in a big group.
Eventually, Brittany developed a crush on Patrick after he gave her a Valentine’s Day card and rose as a joke. He gave her this at lunch while everyone in the lunchroom shouted at him to “kiss her!”. This was she she knew he was the one.
In 2013, they even went to the prom together. You can find those throwback pictures on her Instagram account. After she graduated, she went off to the University of Texas at Tyler to play soccer while he finished his last year of high school. When he graduated, he went off to rival Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, which is over 400 miles away from Tyler.
Despite the distance, Brittany and Patrick maintained their relationship. And when he was taken in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, she quickly joined him in K.C.
When Will Brittany Become Patrick Mahomes’ Wife?
Last September, the Chiefs received their Super Bowl rings in a ceremony at Arrowhead Stadium. It just happened to be on September 1, Brittany’s birthday. But Patrick wasn’t the only one receiving a ring that day.
After the ceremony, he took Brittany to a suite that was full of flowers, candles, and the words “will you marry me” in white lights. He then presented her with a ring of her own. The 8-carat, emerald-cut diamond is a showstopper and reported to be worth 6 figures.
While the couple hasn’t announced their wedding date or location, one has been selected and based on her Instagram posts. According to one post, it’s believed the wedding will take place in 2022.
In late September 2020, they announced that they were expecting, with a cute Instagram post of them holding sonogram pictures and a message that said: “Mom & Dad, taking a small detour to the wedding” and in October, announced that they were expecting a baby girl.
On February 20, 2021, Brittany and Patrick announced the birth of their daughter, Sterling Skye Mahomes. She weighed 6lbs 11oz at birth. Since February, we’ve only been able to catch glances of Sterling’s baby toes, fingers, and the back of her head. That’s because Brittany and Patrick have decided not to show pictures of her face so far.
Other Things You Didn’t Know About Patrick Mahomes’ Girlfriend

1. She is BFFs with Patrick’s little brother, Jackson. They often appear on Instagram together, Jackson accompanied her wedding dress shopping, and she attends most Chiefs’ games with him.
2. She is good friends with other girlfriends of the Chiefs’ players, including Kayla Nicole, the on-again, off-again girlfriend of the Chiefs’ tight end, Travis Kelce.
3. Brittany and Patrick have two dogs, Steel and Silver. They often appear in their Instagram photos. And they have their own Instagram account, too, where they are often wearing Chiefs’ gear to cheer on their dad. They even incorporated the pups into their gender reveal, having them walk across white paper to reveal pink paw prints.
