Local police have now released images of the suspected individuals who shot Commanders running back Brian Robinson.
Robinson, a rookie selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, was shot multiple times Sunday during an attempted robbery.
When police arrived on the scene they located Robinson who was suffering from “a couple gunshot wounds to his lower extremities.”
He was taken to a hospital with what the team called “non-life-threatening injuries.”
Robinson emerged this summer as Washington’s primary early-down back as the coaches liked his ability to run inside, showing consistency and power.
Robinson, a rookie selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, was expected to compete with Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic in the Commanders’ backfield. Now, his playing future is uncertain.
