NBC just gave ESPN a stiff arm.
Last week, it was announced that the worldwide leader in sports wanted a dream-team of broadcasters going forward and they had “plans to attempt to acquire Al Michaels from NBC Sports for “Monday Night Football,” according to Andrew Marchand of The New York Post.
On Tuesday, Andrew Marchand reported yet again that NBC had declined ESPN’s initial request to engage in trade talks for broadcaster Al Michaels.
“We look forward to Al completing his contract and calling ‘Sunday Night Football’ games on NBC,” Greg Hughes, an NBC Sports spokesman, told Marchand.
Michaels still has two years left on his deal with NBC.
ESPN’s current team consists of Joe Tessitore and Booger McFarland.
