Russell Wilson appears ready now more than ever to make his move away from the Seattle Seahawks.
According to Jordan Schultz, Russell Wilson would “strongly consider” waiving his no-trade clause to three teams. Schultz reported Wilson has interest in the Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints and New York Giants.
The Eagles were also mentioned as a possibility.
John Clayton, however, appeared on the 93.7 The Fan with Andrew Filliponi, and quickly shot down the Russ rumors.
“This has been the most overrated story in my 50 years of covering the National Football League,” Clayton said.
An eight-time Pro Bowler, Wilson’s 2021 campaign has been marred by a broken finger and inconsistent play since his return.
Since returning from a finger injury, the team is just 1-3 over their last four games and the team appears poised to have a losing season for the first time in the Russell Wilson-era.
The 33-year-old has completed 67.2% of his passes for 2,042 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions in nine games.
