NFL teams can be quite brutal when it comes to cuts they make to the roster.
Players they don’t have much use or respect for get treated liek crap.
Case in point: Tyler Johnson.
Earlier this week, Johnson found out that he would be released for the third time since last fall. To make matters worse, he learned via Twitter that the Las Vegas Raiders were parting ways with him, despite the fact that he had only joined the team in January.
Following two years as a member of the rotation in Tampa Bay, the last couple of months have been a little rough for Johnson.
A Buccaneers fifth-round pick in 2020, Johnson had signed a futures deal with Las Vegas in January.
After being cut by the Bucs, he would land with the Houston Texans but only appeared in two games with the team before he was released yet again.
He appeared in 14 games for the Bucs in 2020 and caught 12 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson drew an important penalty late in the team’s victory in the NFC Championship against the Green Bay Packers. His effort helped Tampa Bay come out on top in Super Bowl LV.
He has 48 career receptions for 529 yards with two touchdowns.
He starred at Minnesota during his college career, developing into the program’s all-time leader in receiving yards (3,305) and receiving touchdowns (35).WANT MORE FROM TOTALPROSPORTS? FOLLOW US ON GOOGLE NEWS.
