The hockey world is in mourning after Walter Gretzky, the father of hockey great Wayne Gretzky, passed away this week.
He was just 82-years-old.
Wayne Gretzky said in a statement Thursday night that his father battled Parkinson’s disease and other health issues the past few years.
His famous granddaughter Paulina Gretzky took to social media on Friday to share a personal message to her late grandfather.
In the touching post, she says that she will miss him and his trivia that she “could never answer.”
“Grandpa, I miss you and will always cherish the moments we spent together,” Paulina Gretzky wrote alongside the photo. “Most of all, I will miss your trivia, that I could never answer.”
“You were a role model to me and so many others. You had the unique ability to light up every room you walked into. I love you, Grandpa, I know you and Grandma are looking over all of us together. Until we meet again…”
