Sports betting is officially back.
Will Drew Brees take his apologies and turn them into actual actions by kneeling during the National Anthem during the NFL season? You can now bet on whether he does that or not.
According to Legal Sports Betting, the Saints QB faces -900 odds to stand and +500 to kneel with his teammates.
MyBookie, one of the biggest sportsbooks on the internet, has also released the odds on Brees’ stance when Week 1 comes around.
The NFL season is still almost three months away, but Brees kept the focus on the league with his comments about kneeling being disrespectful to the anthem.
The future hall of fame quarterback issued an apology today saying he “completely missed the mark” with his comments after he received backlash for his response from his teammates Michael Thomas and Malcolm Jenkins, as well as Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
In an Instagram post, Brees wrote: “I would like to apologize to my friends, teammates, the City of New Orleans, the black community, NFL community and anyone I hurt with my comments yesterday. In speaking with some of you, it breaks my heart to know the pain I have caused.” He added, “In an attempt to talk about respect, unity, and solidarity centered around the American flag and the National Anthem, I made comments that were insensitive and completely missed the mark on the issues we are facing right now as a country.”
The Saints host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Week 1 of the NFL season.
