LeBron James has a long and distinguished career, but there was a time when he worried a lot about what people thought of him. That era has long since passed.
On a recent edition of “The Shop,” the Los Angeles Lakers superstar was frank in his description of his mentality.
“Is that even a thought? Missing or failure before you take the shot?
“Like the consequences of it? The magnitude of it?
LeBron: “Maybe when I was younger because I cared about what everybody else thought. I don’t give a fuck now.”

In terms of trading away star guard Russell Westbrook, the Los Angeles Lakers are no closer than they were at the beginning of free agency. The L.A. players are at least getting ready for the prospect of reuniting for next season. According to Chris Haynes, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook reportedly spoke on the phone and “stated their devotion to one another” in order to make things work for the upcoming season.
The Lakers had a turbulent season that finished with them missing the playoffs and even failing to clinch a play-in place. This report is just the latest in that turbulent season.
Just two years after winning a championship, the Lakers fired head coach Frank Vogel at the end of the season.
Darvin Ham was brought in to replace Vogel, and he as spoke as a man who wants Westbrook to play with the team next season.
With no concrete trade avenues opening up right now for the Lakers, the team will have to hope that Westbrook can adapt his style of play to better fit alongside LeBron and Davis.
