As the days go by, we are starting to see just how much Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis are not on the same page with each other.
When Kristaps Porzingis received a $50,000 fine during the Dallas Mavericks’ playoff series with the Los Angeles Clippers, it quickly disappeared in the media amid the intensity of the postseason. However, it really bothered his teammate, Luka Doncic.
According to Mike Fisher of Sports Illustrated, Doncic did not like the fact that Porzingis went to an LA strip club as the Mavs were just starting their playoffs series with the Clippers.
Porzingis was lucky the NBA didn’t suspend him or had to quarantine despite the violation. Porzingis did deliver with a big game after the incident, scoring 20 points and registering four rebounds, three steals and two blocks in Game 2 to help Dallas take a 2-0 lead.
Unfortunately for him and the team, he would never score that much for the rest of the series. 3 of the next five games in the series would see Kristaps score in single digits and would only register one double-digit rebound game despite being 7′ 3″.
The Mavericks could potentially run it back next season, but they have a lot of work to do to repair the relationship between their two stars.
