Mark Cuban does not like when people overly criticize his players.
Superstar athletes are more prone to criticism because of the light that shines on them and their exceptional talent. Just ask players like Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid or LeBron James about how they’ve dealt with it throughout their careers.
For the first time in his NBA career, Luka Doncic is going through it right now after a well-respected basketball writer took issue with how he carries himself on the court.
“[Doncic] has become one of the biggest whiners in the league,” Lowe said. “It’s become constant.”
“I’ll tell you exactly what I think. F–k you, Zach Lowe. You don’t know s–t,” Cuban said on VICE TV’s “Cari & Jemele Won’t Stick to Sports” this week. “I know Luka, right, and it’s just he’s not a big whiner. He’s passionate. He cares, he wants to win. He’s got some s–t to him… but no, he’s not a whiner. He’s a baller.”
The 21-year-old is averaging 27.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 9.4 assists per game, but the Mavs are just 9-14 on the year and just two losses away from being dead last in the Western Conference.
