As the Warriors continue to process Kevin Durant’s devastating Achilles injury from Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night, most are still in disbelief over the initial reaction from the Toronto crowd. Durant, who went down during the second quarter, was helped up by teammates as fans inside Scotiabank Arena cheered.
On social media, Raptors fans were being killed for how they handled the Kevin Durant injury as soon as it happened.
Players like Serge Ibaka and Kyle Lowry had to tell the crowd to chill before it got out of hand.
What the media has failed to show is that Toronto Raptors fans actually showed class by clapping and chanting “KD, KD, KD” as he exited the court and went into the locker room.
One thing is clear, there are always going to be some a-holes in the midst of good fans that will garner all the attention because of the negative aspect that many tend to harp on. Toronto Raptors fans have been nothing but great not only throughout these playoffs, but for many many years before this epic playoff run.
