After reportedly being interested and then disinterested in Jason Kidd, the Los Angeles Lakers seem to actually have a head coach in mind if Luke Walton is indeed fired from his position.
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith said on First Take this morning that Kidd is not a candidate and then followed that up by going on his radio show and suggesting former Cleveland coach Ty Lue will get a serious look.
“They believe that Ty Lue warrants strong consideration.”
Lue was extremely successful with the Cleveland Cavaliers, winning 61% of his regular-season games and 67% of his playoff games, and of course winning it all in 2016 with LeBron James leading the way.
After Cleveland fired Lue earlier this season, LeBron vouched for him:
Lue has a career coaching record of 128-83 record.
