Travis Hunter after he left Saturday’s game following a seemingly dirty hit by Colorado State Rams safety Henry Blackburn. After the hit by Blackburn, things escalated, and CU quarterback Shedeur Sanders immediately approached Blackburn and got in his face in anger.
On Monday, FOX Sports 1’s Skip Bayless got some inside scoop about his injury and stated that the Colorado Buffaloes star suffered a lacerated liver during his team’s overtime win over Colorado State on Saturday night.
This means he will miss three to four weeks due to the injury which backs up what head coach Deion Sanders after the game.
The hit by Blackburn on Hunter suddenly has the Buffs without one of their most important players for the next two weeks against Oregon and USC.
The Buffaloes improved to 3-0 in the Sanders era with Saturday’s dramatic 43-35 double-overtime victory over Colorado State. The Rams built a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter, but Shedeur Sanders led his team to a comeback victory.
He went 38-of-47 for 348 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. He also led a 98-yard touchdown drive that featured a two-point conversion in the final minutes to force overtime. He also threw two touchdowns in the overtime periods.
Hunter dominated the first two games for Colorado as he had an interception to go with 11 catches for 119 yards during the season-opening win over TCU and then posted three catches for 73 yards and four tackles in the following victory over Nebraska.
