During last season the Dallas Cowboys found themselves very thin at the wide receiver position. They traded away Amari Cooper in the off season to the Browns and also Michael Gallup was coming off a torn ACL and was still not fully healthy.
To make matters worse, newly signed free agent James Washington suffered an injury in pre-season which caused him to miss extended time and the organization felt third-round draft pick Jalen Tolbert was not ready to contribute causing him to be inactive for several games.
That left Ceedee Lamb as the only real threat at the receiver position, which led to speculation all season that the Cowboys were pursuing Odell Beckham Jr. who was a free agent and was coming off his own torn ACL that he suffered in the Rams Super Bowl 56 victory over the Bengals.
In the end, Beckham never ended up signing with any team as he was still rehabbing his injury. Fast forward several months later and the Odell to the Cowboys rumors have heated up again and it is being reported that Dallas has even reached out to Beckham’s mother in order to help land the free agent.
