Here’s a look at the MetLife Stadium parking lot shortly after 4:00 p.m. EST. It’s surprisingly very empty, with few fans and no visible traditional tailgating parties.
Look away, Jets fans. NFL X (formerly known as “Twitter”) wasted no time calling out the New York fanbase over the look of the parking lot just hours before kickoff:
Approximately 90 minutes later, Bills fan @JSpenceTheKing posted an update with a more crowded parking lot despite the brutal weather conditions. Still, you almost never see a parking lot that empty within the hours leading up to an NFL game, especially for a big market club like the Jets.
Monday night marks arguably the Jets’ most highly-anticipated game since their appearance in the 2010 AFC Championship Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Monday, of course, will mark Aaron Rodgers’ debut with the Jets.
Ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Jets completed a trade with the Green Bay Packers for the future Hall of Famer and four-time MVP. With Rodgers now in town, the Jets are well-positioned to end football’s longest active postseason drought, having last qualified in 2010.
