Brittney Griner has returned to training on the back of her homecoming.
The Phoenix Mercury star was back at the team’s practice facility this week with a fresh haircut. The Mercury’s Twitter account shared a photo of the 32-year-old about to shoot a basketball while sporting her new look.
“There she is,” the caption to the image read, with the post being shared on the day it was announced Brittney had re-signed with Phoenix.

Griner, an eight-time WNBA All-Star, is one of the best players in the league but was made to miss the 2022 season as she spent nearly 10 months in a Russian prison after being arrested for being in possession of less than one gram of hash oil.
She was released as part of a prisoner swap in December and is now ready to carry on with her life as a professional basketball player.
The Mercury could certainly do with the former No.1 overall pick back on their roster as they missed her last season, finishing the term with a 15-21 record before getting swept in the first round of the playoffs.
