Darius Slay was born on January 1, 1991, in Brunswick, Georgia, and grew up in a small town in southern Georgia. He attended Mississippi State University, where he played college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft and played for the team for six seasons, from 2013 to 2018.
During his time with the Lions, Slay established himself as one of the top cornerbacks in the league, earning two Pro Bowl selections and being named a First-Team All-Pro in 2017.
Darius Slay was traded from the Detroit Lions to the Philadelphia Eagles in March 2020, and he signed a new three-year contract worth $50 million with the Eagles.
